"When I first heard about the 13 Moon PDC, I was mesmerized by the idea of a slowed-down, year-long, female-led PDC bold enough to articulate the existence and importance of our inner and social landscapes, in addition to the more traditionally taught land-based models of permaculture. I have not been disappointed! This course has helped me to more fully understand my connection with the land I inhabit, my community, and my own body/mind/spirit. It has helped me to slow down, pay attention, and to work with the beauty of what is already present. Most importantly, it has empowered me to see myself as a "designer" capable of impacting the world from a holistic perspective, grounded in the wisdom of nature, in every aspect of my life. I have recently changed careers, done an internal audit of my energy flows, and I've even begun to put down roots at my own little homestead due to what I've learned in this course. Thank you, 13 Moon Collective!" ~Michelle Puckett
"I had a great experience with the 13 Moon PDC course. The instructors possess a vast expanse of knowledge in the realms of permaculture and homesteading and they presented the material in a style that was inclusive, engaging and fun. I recommend this course to anyone thinking about

"The 13 Moon PDC changed my relationship to plants, the bigger landscape, and to gardening. I gained a wealth of knowledge and skills; the fact that the classes are spread out over the course of a year has given me the opportunity to better absorb and integrate what I have learned."

"When I was invited by my girlfriend to join the 13 Moon course, I followed her into the adventure with little forethought. That first day at Gaiawise was like my first day in Athens, awe inspiring and linguistically challenging. When I returned for the second Saturday's program it was as though I had travelled to another planet, with operating principles and values that were so much more intimate yet universally supportive of life and its possibilities. As the months passed, I found myself responding more and more to the inner rhythms of permaculture, the growing evidence of its necessary awakening in our collective consciousness. This has changed my life. The principles set forth that first day are seeding in me: Observe and interact, Use small and slow solutions. These go beyond the garden into my daily interactions with the world. Thanks to all, teachers and classmates, the land and water for this revolutionary and revelationary gift." ~Ross Kersey
"Studying permaculture with Delia, Kyra, Rachel and Cassandra will forever change the course of your life from the inside out! The 13Moon PDC is unlike any other PDC because these four teachers, and the amazing guest speakers they invite, teach from their incredible life experience as mothers, artists, activists, healers and community builders. They live what they teach, and they support each student in their journey."

"The 13 Moon PDC course is nourishing to mind/body/spirit and full of practical nuts and bolts information. Not only are the teachers extremely knowledgeable--accomplished, established permies in their own right-- but we were regularly gifted with leading expert guest speakers on specific topics. The course easily meets the needs of both the novice and those with a broader base of background information. I highly recommend the 13 Moon PDC." ~Christina Keefe

"The 13 Moon PDC has been a life-changing journey of learning, relearning and reclaiming. I appreciate the warmth, dedication and depth of knowledge of the presenters, the beautiful setting for the course, and the balance of rich content and hands-in-the-dirt practice. The centrality of women's leadership in the core faculty and adjunct faculty members was a potent antidote to the tedium of male-dominated teaching and learning spaces. Being able to witness and participate in the transformation of the land over the course of a year provided many lessons that a 2-week crash course could never provide. Growing up in public housing in Cleveland I suffered a number of alienating and traumatic experiences which left me with a deep sense of disconnection from the plant community, and especially from any sense of active partnership with plants. This has totally changed for me. For the first time in over 40 years, I love playing in dirt, I have learned to recognize different kinds of plants, have developed intimacy with the land at GaiaWise and at my home in Berkeley. I have developed a relationship of care with trees in my front and back yards, blackberries and wild radishes everywhere and been enlivened with the vision that partnership with the land and its generativity is a central dimension of transforming, healing and saving the world. I have known this in my head for decades. Thanks to the 13 Moon PDC, I am now living it in my body."

"I have had a wonderful time with the 13 Moon CoLab. It’s been wonderful to have the opportunity each month to ignite the ideas and passion for applying permaculture to the life I’m already living. I’m doing a better job of living on this earth since I started using the principles and ethics of Permaculture in my daily life. I totally recommend this course for beginners and for those who think they already know a lot."

"Through the 13 Moon PDC, my concept of permaculture has expanded into a holistic relationship with life, rather than limited to a way to work with the landscape. As a woman, I felt held by this group of female teachers and so inspired by the visits we had each month from empowered women in permaculture. I recommend this class for anyone desiring a deeper way of relating to themselves and the world. It has been a blessing to have this time each month to come together to share ancient and evolving wisdom with humans, who turn out to be 90% microbial, 10% human!"
