GaiaWise
GaiaWise, a 3-acre property in rural Sebastopol, CA, is currently in development as a mini-ecovillage and educational site for permaculture, somatics, art and regenerative community.
Kyra Auerbach and her family reside at GaiaWise, and host three other home places occupied by healers, mechanics, soil builders, permaculturists, and mothers. GaiaWise has a small older orchard, extensive gardens, a working greenhouse, pond, labyrinth, wood-fired sauna and open spaces. Design plans are in place for a dedicated yurt classroom, outdoor kitchen and humanure composting palace. |
GaiaWise is beautiful and peaceful, but has also experienced its own share of human error and ill usage. Permaculture teaches us “within the problem lies the solution”-- GaiaWise is ripe with opportunities for permaculture education and the practices of land and culture repair. Here we can learn in a hands-on, heart-in way about resourceful and sensitive land and community development, and the deepening of our instincts in relationship to Place.
